Moong Dal Flaxseed Laddoo

  • Moong dal – 1 cup

  • Flaxseeds  – 1/4 cup

  • Jaggery – 1 cup

  • Ghee – 1/4 cup

  • Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp


  • Heat a pan on medium flame and dry roast the flaxseeds slowly. Keep mixing so that it gets roasted. As soon as flaxseeds start spluttering, it indicates they are roasted. Leave for a min and pour them in a plate to cool. After cooling, grind them to a fine powder

  • Next dry roast moong seeds. Keep mixing until the colour changes from green to brown. Pour moong seeds also onto a plate to cool. After cooling, grind them until you get a coarse texture

  • Grate your jaggery and take into a bowl

  • Now take all the three in a mixer jar. Also add cardamom powder and grind until the jaggery melts

  • Heat ghee till it melts and slowly add to the powdered mixture and start making laddoos

  • You can serve them immediately or let them cool down completely and store in an airtight container to serve later
