Flaxseed Chutney Powder


  • 1 cup peanuts

  • 1/2 cup flaxseeds

  • 1/4 cup roasted gram

  • 8-10 dry chillies or 2-3 tsp chilli powder (or as needed)

  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

  • 4 to 5 pods of garlic

  • Salt as needed

  • 1 tsp oil


  • In a thick-bottomed pan, dry roast peanuts and cool. Once cooled peel off the skin

  • Next dry roast flaxseeds on a medium flame until they splutter. Do not overheat else the powder would turn bitter. Allow it to cool

  • In the same pan add oil and once heated add garlic, cumin seeds

  • Once everything cools down, grind all the items

  • Store the powder in an airtight jar

  • If the powder is too dry, then you can add a few drops of ghee
